M'hammed Sabour (b. 1947) is a professor of sociology at the University of Eastern Finland, specialized in the sociology of culture and knowledge. In his childhood and youth he lived in Morocco, with in the Arab and Berber culture, but also in the midst of French influences. Sabour moved to Finland in 1976 and did his licentiate research and dissertation on the identity and alienation of Arab intellectuals. This dissertation, called Homo Academicus Arabicus, has a strong influence of sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. Bourdieu also partially supervised Sabour s study and acted as a pre-examiner. 317 pp. English language. Some small general wear and light yellowing, in general a very nice copy!
