Pekka Luukkola (born 1968) is an experienced nature photographer and author who has distinguished himself in numerous photographic competitions in Finland and abroad. Journey into Finland is his third full-scale book of photographs, following on from his prize-winning first black-and-white collection, The Golden River of Lapland (1998), and Images of Lapland (2000). He has voted Photographer of the Year by the prominent Finnish photography magazine Kameralehti in 1995 and became an afiap in 1998.
He has devoted much of his attention in recent years to improving the technical quality of his photographs at various stages in the production process, from field procedures to printing techniques. He is a graduate engineer by profession, and all three published collections have been put together in his spare time, alongside his demanding day-to-day work. Very Good / Very Good. Item #2593
