This unique handbook of mineralogy contains a systematic presentation of all the knowledge of the discipline that existed at the time of its publication. The author of the book, J. G. Wallerius (1709-1785), was a prominent Swedish chemist and mineralogist who served as a professor of chemistry, medicine and pharmacy at Uppsala University. He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1750. **** Condition of the book is good for its age. The top of the spine has a small tear. Covers have darkened and have moderate wear. The text has a moderate amount of underlining. The title page has been repaired and shows some darkening in the repaired area. The page edges are also darkened and have a fair amount of foxing. Pages in general are in good condition, with light foxing.
