Veikko Nuutinen
85: Parvs, 2008. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Parvs Publishing publishes a comprehensive overview of the work of sculptor Veikko Nuutinen (b. 1944 in Ruokolahti, lives in Helsinki). In his career spanning more than four decades, Veikko Nuutinen has consistently worked with modernist design language, deepening and varying his central theme, which combines the appreciation of nature and man. In the hands of a humanist who strives for harmony, the themes have received an abstract and therefore also timeless interpretation instead of representation, the starting point of which is always classical sculpture: dynamism, suppleness, plasticity, rhythm and beauty are the words Nuutinen uses to describe his goals. The texts of the book, the introductory essay and the chronological biography, were written by art critic Otso Kantokorpi. Leena Kuumola is responsible for the Swedish version of the trilingual book and Susan Heiskanen for the English version. Timo Setälä has prepared the layout and style of the book while respecting the format of the news.
