Resilience has the potential capacity to improve adaptation to serious illnesses and enhance recovery from surgery. In pulmonary disease patients receiving ambulatory oxygen therapy, and in women with benign or malignant gynecologilal diagnosis, higher resilience is associated with better health-related quality of life and life satisfaction, and less anxiety and depressive symptoms.
