In 2009 a two day conference was arranged by the Royal Coin Cabinet in Stockholm and the Coin Cabinet at the National Museum in Helsinki. Invited speakers discussed financial and numismatic aspects of the Finnish War and the Napoleonic wars in northern Europe.The aim of the conference was to draw attention to the historical events and their economic consequences.
