This book is a short illustrated introduction to the history and aeroplane collection of the Finnish Aviation Museum. Through the past 40 years the collection has grown from one of less than ten aeroplanes to one of almost 80. It represents a cross-section of the Finnish aviation history and aviation engineering as well as its technological development. The collection also comprises dozens of aero-engines and hundreds of other aeroplane parts. In addition to these, there is a large collection of aviation books and magazines as well as numerous other aviation related publications. The Aviation Museum Society (Finland) compiled and published this book as a part of the celebrations of the Museum's first 40 years and also to stimulate continued efforts for the preservation of the Finnish aviation heritage.
