The 'Finland' Thieme describes in his poem comprised only the territories ceded by Sweden to Russia in 1721 and 1743. But Tsar Alexander I decided to join the Vyborg province of the Russian Empire to the newly founded autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland in 1812.
This poem is reproduced as facsimile together with metrical translations in the other three languages of Vyborg at that time Finnish, Swedish, and Russian–and, in this edition, also in English. Very Good. Item #6404
