Petäjäveden vanhan kirkon tarina = The Story of Petäjävesi Church
116: Kopijyvä, 2001. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Text in English and Finnish. 72 pp. Dedication in the front free endpaper.
Together with Old Rauma and the Fortress of Suomenlinna, Petäjävesi Old Church was one of the first locations in Finland to earn a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1994.
Designed and built by Jaakko Klemetinpoika Leppänen from Central Finland, this masterpiece of folk carpentry and wooden architecture was completed in 1765. The final touches were put to the church milieu by Leppänen's grandson Eerik Jaakonpoika Leppänen, who built a bell tower next to the church in 1821. Although the old church has interested researchers for decades, never before has an entire book been published about it. Now this desire has been fulfilled. Fine. Item #6520
