Charles Sandison lives and works in Tampere, Finland. Originally from the far North of Scotland, Sandison studied at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1993. Sandison has worked mainly with computer generated video projections to create immersive data projection installations that Place the viewer at the centre of a changing universe of words, signs, and characters.
A self taught computer programmer, Sandison writes his own code in isolation and in his own contradictable opinion considers himself to be at the same time; "one of the last true Modernists" and also "a conceptual artist".
This book was published with the close co-operation of the artist. The images and text contained in this publication represent both the work ' Covenant' and the path that was taken to reach that work, The reader is invited to follow this story and hopefully one day arrive at the hall in Oulu where the work is permanently installed.
