Ranikko uses dyed gypsum as his material, creating a tension between the static and the dynamic. He often gets his subjects from the world of movies. He is also interested in movement. The photographs in the book are mainly by Jussi Tiainen, but the artist's own shots are also included. Liisa Seppo is responsible for the graphic design of the book. The book contains two articles, the first of which is a conversation between the photographer and professor Jan Kaila and Vesa-Pekka Rannikko, entitled "A Sculpture Posing as a Picture". The second article is an essay philosophical reflections by Veloi-Matti Saarinen, entitled "Sudden Changes from Painting to Sculpture and Back to Sculpture".
